Asunción has a rich and interesting history.  This includes the “Riviera Block”, which is a well preserved city block containing the oldest house in the city, the railroad, the House of Independance and the López Palace.

Asunción has dozens of nightlife bars and clubs, shopping malls, top quality hotels and restaurants. It also contains the highly regarded Lírico Theater.
